The Christmas Season

The Toews arrived back home again last Wednesday night. We have been really busy this last week getting ready for the Christmas Program which was last night. It seemed to make things extra busy but I'm really glad we did it now. Several people commented that the message of the gospel came across clearly. This was one time when Russ and Cyndi where actually able to watch the play instead of being back stage directing everything. Which was a blessing for them. The kids did an excellent job for not having many practices. One of the added benefits of having Raquel involved in the play is that she doesn't want to leave now... or at least not until after the Christmas season. Not that it will change anything since she already has her plane ticket. She did a great job with the lights. She will be leaving this weekend and she will be missed greatly. (I know... isn't it grand?)* I am slightly troubled because she does not yet have a return ticket. But most likely she will be back, since she will miss us all so much. (I shall, really I shall)

Some exciting news recently is that Paula just found out that she will be able to have all three of her children over the Christmas break. Her case worker (who has now quit) was not doing her job properly and since she left they are saying she should have had her kids back so they are working diligently to that end and she may be able to have them permenantly after the Christmas break, and if not then, at the beginning of January. Please continue to pray for her and her children since they have been in the system they have been exposed to a lot of things that may be a challenge for Paula to deal with now. Also continue to pray for her husband that he would turn from his alcohol and that we would have an opportunity to get to know him and encourage him.

It has been exciting(when it's not scary) to watch God provide for us here. We have been so blessed in the last week. We appreciate your involvement with us here and thank you for all your prayers. I know it could not be possible without prayer.

There are several things going on in the evenings this week, including caroling, and a parade that we plan to have a float in. Other than that we just want to wrap up a few things before Raquel leaves and do some more Christmas prep.

Currently there are several in our household that are fighting colds. [Seth coughs for emphasis] Please pray for our health.
