Matthew's Birthday

In a way, it seems like that's a really long time--especially when I look at old pictures, and think about all the stuff that's happened since he was born. But also, it seems like just a few days ago. On his birthday, Matthew and I were looking at pictures of him. I don't know if he understands that the baby in the pictures is him, although he'll point to it and say, "Matthew". He puts lot's of words together into short sentences now, and it's so cute to hear him say, "Tara! How works?"or,  "Tara! Wake up!!" (actually it would sound more like, "Taaa-daw! Wabe-up!") Sometimes he'll say, "uh! Not works!"
For his birthday, Dad made him a little riding toy thing (don't know what to call it!) and he loves it!

Also, Mom is making him a quiet book, which isn't done--yet. ;) His cake was a bulldozer (or something like that...)--and he loved it!!

So now we are trying to teach him to say 2 when people ask him old he is...but most of the time he just says, "10!" and grins because he knows that's not right. 

His first reaction...

There goes that thumb, sneaking back up to his mouth!

"Eat it." So, he does.
