Busy Days

Russ and Cyndi arrived home on October 20th. It was so exciting to hear their storied of divine appointments along the way. They even met someone who grew up near Goshen with a Mennonite and Amish background, and her maiden name... Miller. They are very interested in the ministry here and the possibility of a children's home. They offered their cabin in Estes Park, CO to Russ and Cyndi, where they stayed for 4 nights.

Things have been pretty busy since they got home, just getting them updated with things here. We have some ministry planning that we need to do for Christmas soon... before the Toews leave. They will be gone for 2 weeks in November... or three.

We have had a really full weekend. Friday we prepared a lot of food and Saturday we drove south of here about 2 hours on the highway and another hour on a rough dirt road. (the dirt road was about 13 miles long) to get to the pasture of a Hopi ranch. They were opening it up to the Hopi Reservation and offering free wood. So we went down with a couple trailers and a truck. Us ladies took a bunch of food that we gave to the folks that were out there cutting wood. We got home about 9pm.

Saturday we also found out that Jim may need to go to Indiana for a week to help out his Dad, so Sunday morning we decided he should go. So he flew out of Flagstaff a 6:20pm Sunday night.

A young man that used to come here to church (his mom still comes) was in a car accident early Sunday morning and he was in the Flagstaff Hospital. So we also visited him while in Flagstaff. We didn't get back until after 1am this morning. He seems to be aware that God is trying to get his attention though. So we will continue to pray for God to work in his life.

It has been an encouragement to hear testimonies recently of cahnges in some of the peoples lives here and their taking a stand against things they have been convicted of.

We have been waiting to get some puppets involved in our children's ministry here. I was able to download a pattern and I made up 1 puppet so far.

He looks a little funny I know, but hopefully they'll keep improving.

Hey, Why did Jim need to go to Indiana?

I think your puppet looks pretty good for a first try! I'm impressed that you attempted it! It sounds difficult to me :)

Homer needed help on a job there because he was told he had until December to finish it and then a few days ago they said he had to be done by November 6th. So Jim will fly back November 6th.

We might include puppet making in our women's Bible study for a while until we get a few more made. They like to do a craft with the Bible Studies.
